Equity Insurance appoints new CEO

Equity Insurance Group (comprising Equity Red Star syndicate 218 at Lloyd’s and Equity Direct Broking Limited) has announced the appointment of Ian Foy as its chief executive officer.
Foy has extensive experience in both the United Kingdom and New Zealand, and for the last two years served as the chief executive officer of Insurance Australia Group’s New Zealand business.
Prior to this he served as the head of the broker business and strategy at NZI and between 1998 and 2003 he was head of Aviva’s New Zealand insurance business.
Foy has expressed his excitement at the opportunity to lead Equity during a challenging time in its development and praised its strong heritage and focused workforce.
